The vineyard | Terrasses du Larzac, Hérault et Clermont l’Hérault
An exceptional terroir: The Domain of Argenteille is implanted on chalky-clayey soils with large pebbles . They thus store the heat during the day and broadcast it at night to the vine.
Vines are exposed to the south. Grounds are generally rocky and underwent the was-hing of the mineral elements and the clayey fraction. It results from it a very filtering on-surface texture and a clayey fresher in-depth horizon.
The rooting, distributed well, is not stopped by the clayey layer; roots take advantage of pebbles in decay to penetrate into the lower horizons.
The climate is typically Mediterranean and not subjected to marine influence. In addition to the exceptional sunshine of Languedoc, the very large thermal amplitudes of summer nights (up to 20 ° C), bound to the estrangement of the sea and the proximity of the Larzac with cool summer nights, favor a beneficial slow and progressive maturation of the grapes and the development of the aromatic expression of wines with a sensation of freshness.
Add to that the Tramontane, all conditions are met for the good development of the vine and the elaboration of great wines.
